Why did I pass out? Was it from lack of sleep?

Okay, so this happened a few years back but I remember it vividly. I was 10 or 11 and it was morning, and I was going into my parents bedroom to take a shower. I remember walking into the bedroom and the next thing I know, I opened my eyes and I'm sprawled out on the floor, my mom's screaming my name asking me to wake up and asking me if I'm okay and what happened. I don't remember falling or anything. I do believe I hadn't gotten much sleep the night before, so could that have been what caused it?
