My husband struck me what should I do?

Today my husband and I got into an argument and I said some things I should not have said. I told him he is the reason our eldest daughter ran away before completing high school and is now living with her boyfriend who is in college, and that it is his fault that our son turned to drugs. I also insulted his mother and said she did not raise him properly. He yelled at me and said I am controlling and that I am always criticizing him and never appreciate anything that he does. When I mentioned his mother he struck me across the face with the back of his hand and left me sprawled on the kitchen floor. He stormed out of the house and hasn't returned it's been 3 hours or so. At this point I don't know what I should do I am about to give up with my sham of a marriage and my failure as a parent.
