Will my British Blue recover from vestibular syndrome?

Poor Archie, is only 8 and he started walking like he was drunk, head tilted to one side and left ear drooped. He has no ear infection. Do you think he will recover? I hope it's not cancer, I can't afford a CT or MRI Scan, let alone surgery!
