Was 9/11 really about bringing a big brother state all along?

Now we are seeing way more rules and regulations in the name of safety. Safety is always the excuse the government uses to oppress you. In my town alone they have completely banned all fireworks within the county for the 4th of July. I can see in the future that we will not even be allowed to drive because of safety concerns. We will all be forced to use the cattle car public transportation.
