I really need help with a word document that I was editing from the internet.?

I opened my email and opened a file named "English Essay". I edited a lot of it for about three hours, hit saved, and exited. I just realized that I did not hit "save as" and now it's not in my folders. Please tell me how I can recover it because I did a lot of editing...
